On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of establishment of Department of Stomatology of Beijing Royal Integrative Medicine Hospital, Zhou Xiaodong, head of Department of Stomatology led a team to give lecture on oral hygiene knowledge and offer gratuitous treatment in Sanatorium for Retired Cadres of CNPC Qinghai Oil Field (Beijing) on the morning of August 22 for appreciating the society and giving back to surrounding community residents. The purpose of this activity was to widely mobilize social forces to disseminate odontopathy prevention knowledge, to build up the concept of laying importance on oral health education and self-oral cavity health-keeping awareness, thus improving oral health level of the whole society.
Mr. Zhou disseminated oral health-keeping knowledge for surrounding residents, which has made them realize and understand the importance of oral health-keeping. The residents have acquired basic oral health-keeping methods. The lecture mainly contained basic knowledge of teeth, dental pulp disease, dental trauma, irregular denture as well as other common tooth diseases; and health-keeping methods such as how to brush teeth correctly, how to choose healthy food and how to prevent stomatology diseases. Furthermore, Mr. Zhou checked oral health status for these residents, which helped them realize the importance of oral hygiene and tooth health. He advocated patients discover oral diseases early and treat them early. Popular science materials on odontopathy prevention and cure were given away.
