In order to celebrate the first session of Chinese Doctors’ Day and promote the development of hospital culture and build a good image in this profession, Beijing Royal Integrative Medicine Hospital not only held an exciting speech contest for all doctors of this hospital, but also provided a large-scale gratuitous treatment for surrounding community residents. They did this just to convey their gratitude to the society and give back to the public.

On the afternoon of August 22, 2018, the Development and Planning Department of Beijing Royal Integrative Medicine Hospital organized a team of experts from 11 departments to offer gratuitous treatment to celebrate the first Chinese Doctors’ Day in Taiyangcheng Yinling Elders’ Apartment.

Wei Wanlin, dean of Beijing Royal Integrative Medicine Hospital, Hao Jing, and deputy dean of this hospital appeared at the site of gratuitous treatment. They talked with the elders and listened to their opinions and suggestions. Wei Wanlin and Hao Jing also expressed that Beijing Royal Integrative Medicine Hospital would continue to provide community dissemination and education as well as gratuitous treatment, etc. to provide safeguarding the lives and health of the elders. As one of the first batch of geriatric hospitals in Beijing and the only one geriatric hospital in Changping Area, Beijing Royal Integrative Medicine Hospital would provide elder patients with better services including more convenient and warmer medical care.

Doctors measured blood pressure, cardiac rate and offered disease diagnosis and treatment, and health counselling for the elders. They also taught how to prevent and treat common sicknesses and considerations and diet hygiene and health preservation. They carefully asked the elders about their health conditions, got to know their suffering, patiently being counselling in order to provide more detailed and scientific treatment plans, for which they were acclaimed by. Gao Liuhua, head of Deafness Center carefully examined the patients suffering deafness and tinnitus, executed needles on them according to individual cases. As a result, the effectiveness of acupuncture helped him win the acclaim of the elders.

This gratuitous treatment attracted over 200 elder residents. More than 200 health education materials and presidents have been given out.

This gratuitous treatment on the Chinese Doctors’ Day has further aroused the concept of sincerely providing the public with medical services by diligently studying for an extensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of medical care. Moreover, the doctors hoped that all sectors of the society could understand, respect, care and cherish doctors, and even could make it become a social moral, providing a good career circumstance and a platform for development for them.
